Gloria Steinem once said, "We have always been an equal part of the past. We just haven't been a part of history."
During World War II the Army needed Women to act as Computers........;
During this Women's History Month, MAKERS will try to fill in some of those pages by highlighting stories from the past where women have been excluded.
In this round, we're looking at women in STEM (science, tech, engineering, and mathematics) who were whited-out of the history books or have faded from popular history. Did you know the world's first electronic computer, the ENIAC (Electronic Numerical Integrator And Computer), was programmed by women? Did you know that Watson and Crick were not solely responsible for discovering the DNA double helix structure? An incredible female scientist laid the groundwork for them. Did you know that the video fantasy-genre was largely inspired by one woman?
